R.Aslanova: International organizations recognize the achievements of Azerbaijan in the field of human rights
On Tuesday the State Committee for Work with Religious Communities held a conference on Human Rights.
The Chairman of the State Committee, Elshad Iskandarov, said that in 2012-2013 there were about 50 events, including the topics of religion, women's issues, religious and ethnic minorities and street children and their rights.
According to him, Azerbaijan has taken "significant" steps to protect human rights and freedoms, protection of the rights of religious communities and their support by the government.
The Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission on Human Rights, Rabiyat Aslanova, stated that there was a fundamental legal framework for the protection of human rights in Azerbaijan. As an example, she cited the National Action Plan to improve the protection of human Rights
