Mustafa SubhiStreet is renamed
Mayor Office has renamed the Mustafa Subhi Street, where the central mosque complex "Taza Pir" is located. From now on the street will be named Nabat Ashurbekova .
Sheikh Pashazade appealed to the Mayor's Office with a request to rename the street, however, the capital city administration said that it has no such authority.
However, a day after Mayor Office got such powers.
"It happened after the recommendations of the head of state," explained the Mayor Office.
Nabat Ashurbekova belongs to the famous family of Baku millionaires, who built the mosques "Tese Pir" and "Azhdarbey" in Baku.
Nabat Ashurbekova’s grave is at the territory of "Teze Pir" mosque.
As for Mustafa Subhi , he is one of the founders of the Communist Party of Turkey, and he was atheist. In 1921, he was shot in Trabzon , and his body was thrown into the sea. -05D04-
