The Court of Appeal dismissea the appeal of Yadigar Sadikhov
Baku Appeals Court today rejected the complaint of the deputy chairman of the party "Musavat" ,Yadigar Sadikhov, who appealed the decision of the Garadag Court.
Sadigov was arrested on June 27, 2013-year. Lankaran court sentenced him to six years for hooliganism. In 2014 the Court of Appeal reduced his sentence to four years. In November Sadikhov addressed the Garadag Court of Baku with a request to replace the sentence in connection with the departure of a third term, but the court refused, saying it that Sadykhov was kept in jail N14,he is "not prone to self-criticism and the whole day reads books." Today Baku Appeals Court upheld the decision.
Amnesty International recognized Yadigar Sadikhov as prisoner of conscience. -03B-

Today, September 7, 2024, the second picket in support of Igbal Abilov was held in The Hague (Netherlands) in front of the Embassy of Azerbaijan. The event was organized by Igbal's friends and colleagues. During the picket, protesters continued to collect signatures for the petition and called on Azerbaijan authorities to stop persecution and free Igbal. This is the second rally in support of Abilov in Europe.

The Khatai district court of Baku today extended for another three months the arrest term of investigative journalist Hafiz Babaly, arrested in the "Abzas Media case". His lawyer Rasul Jafarov informed Turan about it.
