The reconstruction of the lake Boyukshor is ongoing

 On 24 July Ilham Aliyev got acquainted with the work of clearance and reconstruction of the lake Boyukshor , the largest lake  in  Apsheron, and adjacent territories.

The project is implemented in accordance with a program to improve the ecological status of the lake.

The vast majority of activities related to the first European  Games will be held on the eastern shore of the  Lake Boyukshor, in  the  newly built complex in the Olympic Stadium.

 The restoration of the lake  will be implemented in two stages. Now  clearing 300 hectares of the lake is going on. At this stage, the northern part of the lake will be separated by the dam in the form of eight-line highway. This road will be connected to the prospectus  Ziya Buniyatov, on the other  side with the  Balakhany-Binaqadi road.

 It is planned to complete  the works  in the first quarter of next year. Simultaneously, there are works on recovery and clean of contaminated sediments that had accumulated at the bottom of the lake for over a hundred years. Under the project,  at the initial phase of 2.8 million cubic meters of sediment more than 100 thousand  have been cleaned.

  On the southern shore of the lake will be park covering 16 acres and landscaping is ongoing. In the first half of next year along the eastern coastline will be laid  part of boulevard stretching for about a kilometer. The second stage of recovery the Lake of  Boyukshor covers 2015-2020 years. -02D-
