The US Ambassador Robert Cekuta and the advisor of the ambassador for political issues Susan Chesley met on Wednesday with the executive secretary of the REAL Movement Natig Jafarli. On his Facebook page Jafarli wrote that at a meeting with the US Embassy were discussed socio-political situation in the country, the illegal arrest of the leader of "REAL" Ilgar Mamedov, the referendum results and their implications for the future of the country.
Jafarli was arrested on August 12 on charges of illegal entrepreneurship and abuse of office. On September 9th measure of restraint was changed, and he was released from custody. However, the prosecution is not discontinued, and his confiscated belongings have not been returned. -03D-
