Gezal Bayramli: Parliament, flouting the Constitution, should resign

The parliament is illegitimate, and the opposition will continue to seek its dissolution, said the deputy chairman of the Popular Front, Gezal Bayramli, in an interview with Objective TV. According to her, videos in common social networks featuring a former MP from the ruling party, Gular Ahmedova, show that the National Parliament was formed by bribes. The former chairman of the Narimanov district court, Aghababa Babaev, also recognizes that higher officials put innocent people in prison, and then let them go, taking 5 million manats (over $ 6 million).

The Parliament is bogus, and the judicial system is dependent on political power. Physical pressure was applied against Bayramli during the protest on November 17 only for the fact that she voiced these thoughts.

"Violence against all the protesters, including journalists, was defiant and cruel. This was possible only by the authorities’ order. There is no other explanation for the police brutality. The authorities are wrong in thinking that with such cruelty, they will scare people. We will continue to say that they are not legitimate," she said.

Bayramli does not consider the recent tightening of the legislation on political parties in the Parliament accidental. Priority for all citizens is the Constitution, which recognizes the right to freedom of assembly and expression. The actions of the Parliament, once again trampling on the constitutional rules, is further evidence of its illegitimacy, so its dissolution is logical, said Bayramli. -17D-
