President of Azerbaijan should not go to Iran, which is recently conducting an open anti-Azerbaijani policy, Vafa Guluzade, former state adviser on for foreign policy told in his interview with Turan agency, commenting Tehran’s inviting Ilham Aliyev to the Summit of Non-Aligned Countries to be held in Tehran.
"Iran openly demonstrates hostile policy that was expressed in the refusal to allow to the earthquake zone a humanitarian aid from Azerbaijan. At the same time, the Iranians welcomed the same assistance from Armenia, although hundreds of Azerbaijanis died in Tabriz," he said.
Another indication of unfriendly policy became the arrest of two Azerbaijani writers, who actually are kept in Iran as hostages. "It would be humiliating for the President of Azerbaijan to go to Tehran would be humiliating," said Guluzade.
On the other hand, the Non-Aligned Movement is not something serious and important
in world politics. Even the Soviet Union tried to use this movement to fight against the West. Moscow spent large sums, involving more countries to the movement. However, it did not have serious effect. Today, Iran tries to use this Movement for same effect - in the fight against the USA, Israel and the West.
"Azerbaijan should not take part in the event, which will declare the fight against its strategic partners," said Guluzade.
It is easy to predict that at the summit Iran will try to win the support of the Movement members in support of Syria. However, if we assume that Azerbaijan is represented at the summit not by the president, what position should be taken? Answering this question, Guluzade said that the Assad regime will sooner or later destroyed by his own people. The fact that the regime is still kept, is the result of that support of Iran, Russia and China. Therefore, a representative of Baku will have to face it and support the document (if it is adopted) against the West, and this is unacceptable.
It is no secret that the United States for several years use the Kurdish factor as a mean to achieve their political goals in the Middle East. It started in Iraq, and now is going on in Syria. It is not difficult to predict that soon the Kurds of Iraq and Syria will be able to create their own state, and then the Iranian and Turkish Kurds will join them. Why does America need it, and what should be Azerbaijan’s position, as Turkey's ally?
Answering this Guluzade said that Azerbaijan cannot resist the policy of the USA, the leading world power. However, Turkey can resist it, but Turkey should not act like it did in Iraq, when the Turks refused to send troops to Kerkuk, and now Kurds are there. To prevent the same thing in Syria, Turkey must make serious steps up to the deployment troops to Syria, and then to have a dialogue with Washington.
Answering the question why America needs the Kurds, it is the fifth column, with the help of which Washington wants to achieve its goals in the region, and to put pressure on Turkey. This may seem counterproductive, but remember the creation of Israel. Then America and Britain lost the support of the Arab world, but nevertheless supported Israel. The Soviet Union, by contrast, received the support of Arabs.
However, today a powerful state of Israel dictates its will to the Arabs with support of the USA. Therefore, we can assume that a similar role Washington assigns and Kurds , and will use them against all the countries in the region, and especially Turkey.
Under such a situation, a factor of Turkic solidarity is growing. Without a military, political and economic unification of Azerbaijan, Turkey, and others states, it will be difficult to oppose this policy. -02В-
