Corona Virus Not As Scary As It Is Painted
Baku / 29.03.20 / Turan: Representatives of Rospotrebnadzor told the difference between the new Corona Virus COVID-19 and the flu. This is reported by Newinform.com with reference to the official website of the department.
Experts emphasized that in the situation with the flu there is a shorter incubation period and a serial gap (the period between successive cases). Thus, the spread of influenza is much higher than that of the Corona Virus.
COVID-19 primarily affects the elderly. But young people are more vulnerable to the flu.
“For the Corona Virus, 80% of infections are mild or asymptomatic, 15% are severe, requiring oxygenation, and 5% are critical, requiring lung ventilation," Rospotrebnadzor said.
If we consider the Corona Virus, then here the mortality rate is 3-4%. In influenza, this indicator is less than 0.1%.
An important role in countering Corona Virus is played by strong immunity. As experience shows, the disease captures people with weak immunity. And this group of risk often includes the elderly, whose immunity is weaker than that of the young.
Nutrition plays an important role in the functioning of the immune system - foods rich in omega-3s, selenium, zinc, and probiotics. Immunity depends on nutrition and lifestyle. To strengthen immunity, it is necessary to consume foods rich in omega-3, selenium, zinc, probiotics, as well as take vitamins A, C and E, zinc, which are best suited to strengthen the immune system, as they contribute to the production of various types of immunoglobulins that help fight with the infection, notes tsn.ua.
Even being in quarantine, do not forget about physical activity. The simplest exercise in the morning will help to invigorate the body, give it strength and activate protective processes.
And if you are not at risk and have the opportunity to get out of the house, choose exercises such as running, cycling or walking. Regular exercise will strengthen the immune system and reduce the likelihood of problems with the upper respiratory tract.
An adult needs to sleep about 8 hours a day. Lack of sleep, especially a constant one, worsens the functioning of the immune system and makes the body more susceptible to various infections.
The body's immunity is also weakened against stressful situations and with constant nervous tension. It is worth knowing that immunity is closely related to the nervous system, so neurosis and poor mood interfere with their proper cooperation. To prevent this from happening, you need to devote time to yourself daily: listen to relaxing music, watch a good movie, read a book, or take a bath.
Important! Alcohol and cigarettes significantly reduce the absorption of vitamins, which are necessary for a healthy immunity. Therefore, it is important to limit the use of such stimulants, and it is better to completely abandon them.-0-
