Fifteen people detained on suspicion of drug trafficking
During the operative-search measures of the Ministry of National Security(MNS), 15 people were detained on suspicion of drug trafficking. They are charged with attempting to import to Azerbaijan, bypassing customs controls about 40 kilograms of drugs from Iran.
According to the management of public relations the MNS, as a result of joint operational measures with the Customs Committee, while trying to transport drugs from Ukraine to Azerbaijan, were detained nine citizens of Azerbaijan and one citizen of Ukraine; 24 kilo and 500 gram of dried marijuana were found with them, and confiscated.
As a result of other events the MNS arrested five suspects of illegal drug trafficking on the route "Iran-Azerbaijan" who have seized 15 kilo drugs. Lawsuits were filed on the case. When the operations were conducted, what kind of drugs were confiscated, and the names of the detainees are not reported.–16D--
