Russian Orthodox Church urges teaching the Azerbaijani language
Baku Archbishop Alexander finds it necessary that the Russians study the Azerbaijani language. There are many good people who can not realize their potential because they do not know the Azerbaijani language, he said, speaking Wednesday in the "Knowledge" Fund.
According to him, the theme of teaching the Azerbaijani language to the Russian speaking population was discussed at the level of the presidential administration and the Center for multiculturalism.
"We have come to the firm conviction that we must do everything to Azerbaijani citizens of Russian nationality so that they could fully integrate into the cultural life of our country," he said.
For this purpose the ROC open courses in the Azerbaijani language - spoken and business language. Courses will be held at the Church of the Archangel Michael in the Orthodox religious cultural center, as well as in the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin.
The Archbishop also noted the possibility of such courses in Sumgait, Ganja, Khachmaz and other cities of Azerbaijan.
Classes will be held twice a week for Russian citizens representing different nationalities of the country. Currently, more than 60 people have been registered. The Fund "Knowledge" undertakes the payment for teachers, provision of material and technical base: a tutorial, teaching materials. -02D-
