Huge Fire in Nine-storey Building on Zikh Highway (video)
As a result of a severe fire which occurred in a nine-storey building at 16 Zikh Highway close to the cafe Nargila, three people were injured. This was announced by the representative of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. They were saved by firemen, after which the victims were provided primary health care.
The fire started in the late afternoon on constructions erected for the renovation of the facade of the building. Because of the strong wind, flames quickly began to spread. Residents of the building were evacuated. The fire was extinguished around 21.15.
The fire completely burned the construction scaffold, several apartments and balconies.
The executive branch of the Khatai district said that after assessing the damage all the residents would be compensated. The residents of the burnt apartments intend to stay with relatives for a while. The local authorities will provide temporary housing to those in need. -0-
