Lawlessness of Agdam residents in St.Petersburg
St. Petersburg sentenced four members of a criminal group, which consisted mostly of natives of Azerbaijan. According to Investigation Committee of the Russian Federation, members of the group were people from Agdam region of Azerbaijan.
Adalat Amrakhov was sentenced to 24 years in jail, Khagani Karimov - 22 years, and Samir Mammadov and Andrew Putienko - 21 year. The defendants were found guilty of murder, robbery, intentional destruction of property and banditry. Previously Elnur Gafarov, a member of the gang , made a deal with the investigation and was sentenced to nine and a half years in prison.
It was established that the gang operated from 2003 to 2009. Criminals tried to establish control over the Azeris, trading in various markets of St. Petersburg. According to official figures, gang members killed five people. Investigators believe that the leader of the gang is the “owner” of Agdam region, Murad Mammadov, who is hiding abroad.
According to investigators, Mammadov’s gang consisted almost exclusively of natives of Agdam region of Azerbaijan, and maintained strict discipline among them. The place where they met was a restaurant.
The most resonant crime was the murder by the gang a student of Medical University, Rumia Karimova. On April 8, 2009 she was kidnapped on her way to the University, taken out of town and shot. Soon, Gafarov and Samir Mammadov were detained on suspicion of murder. They stated that the murder was ordered by Gafar Kerimov, the father of the deceased, because she lived an immoral life. Her father was detained, but medical examination showed that the girl was a virgin, and there were not motives for "honor killings." After that, father was released.
Next, the investigators found that a gang wanted to control Karimov’s business, but he actively resisted; therefore they burned his car, and then killed his daughter.
The investigation revealed that a few days after Karimov’s daughter was murdered, the gang members eliminated direct executor of the murder, Qadir Suleymanov. -02D-
