Lawyers of the head of AMAY hope for his release
On October 30, the Court of Appeal is expected to consider the complaint of Abdulla Abdullayev, the convicted businessman, creator of the shopping center AMAY, said at the press conference at the International Press Center his lawyer Osman Kazimov.
The lawyer said that Abdullayev was sentenced to 13 years by the order of a high-ranking official.
Against the background of recent government measures to support entrepreneurship, the lawyer hopes for positive changes with respect to Abdullayev. "If there is a fair trial, the release of Abdullayev is a simple question," said the lawyer.
Abdulla Abdullayev, was sentenced by the Baku Seious Crimes Court to 13 years' imprisonment. The talk is about the bank loans taken out in the period 2003-2008, however, these loans have been closed. The lawyer said that none of the charges - fraud, abuse of office, money laundering, the assignment could be corroborated during the trial.
