Leyla Yunus cannot come to a meeting with a lawyer
The lawyer Ramiz Mammadov could not meet today in Baku prison N 1with a human rights activist Leyla Yunus. Mammadov said that Yunus did not want to go to a meeting. However, Mammadov believes that Yunus feels very bad. Last time the lawyer met with her a week ago, and Yunus was suffering high blood pressure ,and high sugar level in blood.
"Leyla Yunus could hardly walk. She has constantly flowing tears and very pale complexion ... the face of a dying man," said the lawyer. Mammadov said that previously he sent a petition to the investigative body for a forensic medical examination in order to appeal to the court for the release of Yunus under house arrest due to severe illness. Earlier, the lawyer appealed to the prison with a request for a medical report on the health of Yunus, but received no reply. The lawyer said that Leyla Yunus’s life is in danger. —06B-

Last night, three earthquakes occurred along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border with magnitudes of 4.8, 3.0, and 3.8, according to the Republican Center for Seismological Service of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported no information about any destruction or casualties as a result of the earthquakes.
