An overview of the prospects of the executive authorities, the withdrawal of funds from Azerbaijani banks by foreigners, a uniform tariff for taxi services, the possibility of an increase in viral infections and other topics are in the focus of today's media.

Redaktor.az in the article "Abolition of the executive power: how will the districts be managed?" discusses the problems of local authorities.

International standardization specialist, head of Bureau De Qualite Asif Ibrahimov considers it necessary to carry out serious management systems.

"Serious reforms should be carried out in public administration, and duplicate bodies, including regional executive authorities, should be abolished," he said.

Ibrahimov considers it necessary to adopt the Turkish model of local government. The powers of the executive branch should be transferred to municipalities, increasing their status, ”the expert said.

The Banker.az website published an article entitled "Deposits of foreigners in our banks are withdrawn: since the second devaluation they have decreased by 6 times."

As of early August, the volume of deposits of non-residents in Azerbaijani banks amounted to 314.5 million manat. Of these, 104.4 million manats in national currency, 210.1 million in foreign currency.

The decrease in foreign currency deposits of non-residents has continued since December 2015 - with the second devaluation.

Prior to that, the volume of deposits placed by foreigners in the country's banks amounted to 1 billion 233.1 million manat, of which only 33.9 million manat were in national currency. That is, the volume of deposits of non-residents in foreign currency amounted to 1,199.1 billion manat.

This means a 5.7-fold decrease in foreign currency deposits of non-residents after the second devaluation.

And compared to the beginning of this year, foreigners withdrawn 102.02 million from banks (a 23% decrease from the total volume).

Moderator.az is discussing with expert Azer Allahveranov the issue of introducing a single tariff in the taxi service system. The single tariff will stimulate companies to improve the quality of services.

On the initiative of the Baku Transport Agency (BTA), a concept for regulating taxi activities is being developed.

Today there are 60-70 dispatch centers in the country. There are more than 20 thousand taxis in Baku alone. If a single price is applied in this area, the companies will pay more attention to the quality of service,” Allahveranov said.

Yeniavaz.com writes about the risk of contracting the virus in schools.

The country's chief infectious disease specialist, Jalal Isaev, considers it important to control the use of children's masks in schools. According to him, every student must wear a mask, regardless of age.

“There is a risk, since the classes will be held in closed spaces. But much will depend on how people follow the rules and recommendations,” Isaev said.
