Media Review for October 26

The newspaper Azerbaijan writes about the assessment by the commander-in-chief Ilham Aliyev of the military operations carried out by the Azerbaijani army. He expressed satisfaction with the actions of the army, noting that the situation at the front is completely under control. The head of state recalled that over 100 settlements - cities and villages - were liberated from the Armenian occupation.

The enemy did not leave a single whole building, destroyed historical monuments and social facilities. “I instructed to audit everything destroyed and draw up acts. Armenia must be held accountable for all war crimes. The whole world saw what kind of beast we encountered,” Ilham Aliyev said. He recalled that more than 60 civilians were killed and about 300 were injured.

The website Redaktor.az writes about the growing statistics of people infected with the coronavirus, even despite the existence of certain bans. This is explained by the autumn period, which contributes to the growth of colds and infectious diseases, as well as the unwillingness of people to use protective equipment and keep social distance.

There are battles at the front and people must adhere to the established rules even more responsibly.

The website Yenisabah.az writes that the Eurasianet resource has published material according to which the situation of the Armenian army in Karabakh is uncertain. Moreover, it can be surrounded. Azerbaijani artillery can already fire at the Lachin corridor, and therefore block it. The confrontation between the Armenians has not ended yet, but it is already clear that the Armenian army is helpless. The Armenians do not give up their positions, and this increases the likelihood of their encirclement.

The website Moderator.az writes about increasing the world authority of Azerbaijan. The author recalls the recent discussion of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict in the UN Security Council. The last such discussion in the UN Security Council took place in 1995, when resolutions 822, 853, 874 and 884 were adopted.

After the meeting, Russia, France and the United States as countries of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs prepared and circulated the draft of the Chairman of the Security Council among the participating countries.

This document did not contain a reference to the above four resolutions demanding the withdrawal of troops from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.

 Seven countries-members of the Non-Aligned Movement (Indonesia, Nigeria, Vietnam, Tunisia, South Africa, Dominican Republic, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines) demanded to make a reference to these resolutions. This became a diplomatic success for Azerbaijan.
