The head of state Ilham Aliyev took part in the launching of a new patrol boat built at the State Border Shipbuilding Center.
According to the head of state website, the Commander of the Border Troops Elchin Guliyev presented Ilham Aliyev the new ship and talked about its characteristics.
The new ship is equipped with the most modern equipment and weapons. So, it is fitted with missile and anti-missile systems and with technical intelligence systems.
The ship is 62 meters long and is intended for the Coast Guard. It can take helicopters on board.
The vessel will be used for the protection of maritime borders and border enforcement and for the protection of oil and gas fields and pipelines. -02D-
