Oil workers on Bibiheybat resume work, but their demands are still in force
Today's strike of the workers of the fourth section of the Bibieybat Oil and Gas Production Enterprise (OGPE) demanding higher wages was precautionary, Turan was told by Mirvari Gahramanli, the head of the Committee to Protect the Rights of Oil workers.
According to her, the middle managers of the OGPE met with workers, and promised to consider their demands. In the second half of the day the works on the OGPE resumed.
" It is not right to settle problem on such a level. If wages are not increased the strike will resume," suggested Gahramanli. According to her, strikes are possible on other OGPE too, where wages are too low. -16B04-

The workers of the fourth area of the Bibiheybat oil and gas field announced a strike this morning, the head of the Committee to Protect Oil Workers Rights Mirvari Gahramanli told Turan. According to her, the strike is involving about a hundred workers, who are demanding higher wages.
"The salary of these workers ranges from 170 to 300 manat, and 2% from this meager salary is transferred to the Armed Forces Fund," said Gahramanli.
According to her, this is the second strike at this oil and gas field, while the first was held in March of this year.
According to Gahramanli, the oil-gas field leadership is not willing to talk with the workers, who have warned that in the event of dissatisfaction with their demands, they will join other fields of the area to the strike.
Note that in March of this year, about 2,000 workers of the company Bos Shelf belonging to SOCAR protested. They demanded higher wages and health insurance. The leaders partially satisfied their demands. -16B04 -
