Parliament adopts the Migration Code in the second reading
Today's session of the Milli Mejlis adopted the draft Migration Code after the second reading, as well as changes to the existing law "On entering the country, leaving the country and passports."
The changes relate to the terms of introduction to the passport electronic chips, which will contain the data of the passport holder (including a photograph, fingerprints, and other data required for special services), except for the signature.
The current law provides for the introduction of innovations from June 1, but the chairman of the committee on legal policy, Ali Huseynli asked for the deadline to be postponed until September 1 of this year.
Members of Parliament have ignored the criticism of the provisions of this document by civil society representatives voiced the previous day.
The changes to the law "On state registration of real property" and to the law of Azerbaijan Republic "On labor pensions" will also be discussed.
Today, the parliament approved a number of bilateral agreements with Montenegro (Convention "On the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the fight against tax evasion" the Protocol thereto) and with Croatia (Zagreb Declaration on strategic partnership and friendship between the two countries.) --17D—
