Parliament approved report on fight against trafficking without discussion

Baku.04.04.14.Turan : At the Friday a meeting of the Milli Mejlis the report by the National Coordinator for Combating Trafficking, Deputy Interior Minister Vilayat Eyvazov, was approved.

According to him, in 2013, there were recorded 518 cases of human trafficking, and 385 criminal cases were filed. Five organized criminal groups and 152 criminal groups engaged in this type of crime were inactivated. The social rehabilitation of 529 victims of trafficking was arranged.

Overall, last year completed the second phase of a national plan to combat trafficking , adopted in 2004 .

During the debate, the Speaker Asadov did not allow 14 MPs who had signed to speak and instead, on the advice from Chingiz Ganizadeh, he gave word to Elmira Akhundova. She , in turn, noted that many major retail and commercial facilities used child labor, which is illegal. Thus, these objects belong to famous people, numerous conversations on this subject do not give results and other measures should be taken, she said.

Then the report was put to the vote and adopted, despite the claims of other 13 deputies to give them word for statements on this issue. - 07B -
