The impression of foreign journalists about the IV Islamic Solidarity Games, low salaries, bloated management apparatus, and the situation around the International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA) are the leading topics of today's press.
The Azerbaijan quotes statements by foreign journalists about the high organization of the Islamic Solidarity Games, the warm hospitality and the great sporting event.
The Islamic Solidarity Games are broadcast in more than 50 countries around the world, and about 1,000 local and foreign press agencies are accredited - 153 foreign correspondents, 60 photographers, 22 operators - in total, more than 200 media representatives.
The Echo published an article on whether it is possible to survive on an average salary in Azerbaijan.
Today, demand in the labor market of Azerbaijan exceeds the supply several times. In these conditions it is difficult to talk about raising wages. The real average salary is 300 manats. A low indicator of the average salary may be due to the fact that many workers in the country receive a salary from the state budget, including doctors and teachers.
The Bizim Yol writes about a possible reduction in the number of ministries. MP Vahid Ahmedov draws a parallel between Azerbaijan and France. In a country with a population of 68 million there are only 16 ministries, and in 10-million Azerbaijan there are 19 ministries and 9 state committees.
The MP claims that the time has come for structural reforms.
In Azerbaijan for 10 thousand people there are 287 employees of the state administration, and in the USA, Germany, Japan and the Russian Federation there are 110.
The Yeni Musavat writes about the situation around the IBA. The Chairman of the IBA Board Khalid Ahadov argues that the restructuring of the bank's foreign liabilities will not affect the deposits of clients, legal entities and individuals.
As for the fall in the IBA rating, after its recovery the rating will increase, Ahadov asserts.
Commenting on this, the economist Natig Jafarli says the bank's debts will be paid at the expense of the State Oil Fund, which means that the state will get into the pocket of the population. -0 ---
