Representatives of Ombudsman Did Not See Signs of Violence on Young Activists’ Bodies
Members of the National Group for the Prevention of Torture under the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan visited the youth activists Bayram Mammadov and Giyas Ibrahimov in the Baku Detention Center.
The communication apparatus of the Ombudsman stated that the members of the mission "did not notice signs of torture on their bodies."
The young people are accused of drug trafficking, but the real reason for their arrest is graffiti made by them on the monument to Heydar Aliyev.
On the basis of the requests of the Mammadov and Ibrahimov’s parents, the Ombudsman’s representatives held meetings with them in private. Inspection of the bodies of the young people was conducted with the participation of doctors and it did not reveal any damage.
In addition, the medical records of the detainees say that for admission to the Baku Detention Center they passed medical examination, which also revealed no injuries, according to representatives of the Ombudsman.
Note that the lawyer Elchin Sadigov released the testimony of the young people on the use of sophisticated torture against them in the press. The lawyer saw the bruises and injuries on their bodies the next day after the arrest.
Note that representatives of the Ombudsman have never confirmed acts of violence and torture of detainees. -06D-

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
