Staff of «Azadlig» and «Yeni Musavat» newspapers pickets offices of "Gasid"
Today the editorial staff of opposition newspapers "Azadlig" and "Yeni Musavat» picketed the offices of “Gasid” state press distribution company. The rally was held under the slogan "Give our money!"
The reason for the protest was due to non-payment of money from selling newspapers. Gasid allegedly owes "Azadlig" 35,000 manat, and owes "Yeni Musavat" 15,000 manat.
“Gasid” head, MP Mirkazym Kazymov, promised to repay the debt before the end of the year.
“The firm "Gasid" has been promising from April to return the money, but so far, it has returned nothing. We do not believe the promises. But let's wait and see what would happen next," said the first deputy of chief editor Rahim Hajiyev of "Azadlig" newspaper.
“Gasid’s” failure to pay the debt owed to "Azadlig" has caused trouble for “Azadlig” because it cannot meet debts owed to state publishing house "Azerbaijan", which periodically threatens to cease printing the newspaper. -03B06-
