Storm Wind Tears Roofs off Houses in Dashkesan
A strong wind storm last night ripped metal roofing slate from high-rise buildings in the town of Dashkesan in western Azerbaijan.
As reported by the regional TV channel Kapaz TV, on Samed Vurgun Street the gust blew off a wooden roof.
Hurricane winds tore off power lines in several places, which is why there were power outages in the area, the Commission of Emergencies of Dashkesan reported.
The district authorities are working on disaster relief and damage assessment.
Strong winds are frequent in Dashkesan. They continually cause damage to the regional economy and residential buildings. -06D--
