On 5 February the correspondent of the Internet channel "Meydan TV" Sevinj Vagifgizi was interrogated for two hours in the Prosecutor General's Office for Serious Crimes. "The interrogation concerned directly activities of "Meydan TV." They demanded explanations about the coverage of an event, and now investigators asked on what our activity is based,"she told Turan agency. On 6 and 7 February other correspondents of the channel ere also summoned for questioning. As we learned from unofficial sources, the government is seriously annoyed by the activities of the Internet resource, whose leadership is based in Berlin. The authorities are trying by all means to paralyze the work of "Meydan TV" to block transmission of video materials from Baku, to figure out a financing scheme, and declare its work illegal.
"Meydan TV" was created in 2013 by means of the European Funds. The channel founder is a former political prisoner, blogger Emin Milli (Abdullayev). -05B-
