The investigation has imposed a ban on Mehman Aliyev's communication with his family. However, arrested and even convicted persons are supposed to communicate by phone and meet with relatives. But in the case of Mehman, a strict ban was introduced without any reasonable explanations. The formal explanation sounds quite ridiculous - communication with the family can interfere with the investigation (!). And the investigation is not shy to state such nonsense!
Nevertheless, the court accepts this argument and refuses to satisfy the complaint about lifting the ban on the possibility for Mehman to call home.
What is the investigation so afraid of?
Mehman's has a 90-year-old father waiting for him. He was told that Mehman had to leave urgently for foreign travel and that the trip was being delayed. How much longer will it be possible to deceive an elderly person who underwent a cardiac bypass operation?
With every sound of an approaching car, the father's look turns to the gate with hope, and each time in his look there is less hope and more grief.
Can you imagine his thoughts and experiences?
Probably, the look and the expression of the eyes say more than words.
Can it be felt by those who deprived the elderly father of the right to hear the son's voice?
What is this punishment and for what?
A normal person would say in this situation: "Will you be damned! Let you feel the same trouble! Let your parents experience the same thing!"
But I will say differently: gentlemen, look into this old man's eyes, try to imagine what he thinks and if he believes he will once again embrace his son, and whether he is destined for it.
Do you realize your moral responsibility for these experiences? Do you imagine your parents in this situation?
If you are able to sleep peacefully, looking into this man's eyes, then there is no humanity left in you.
Eric Clapton has a wonderful song, My Father's Eyes. It reads as follows:
"Just a toe rag on the run.
How did I get here?
What have I done?
When will all my hopes arise?
How will I know him?
When I look in my father 's eyes.
My father 's eyes.
When I look in my father 's eyes.
My father 's eyes.
Then the light begins to shine
And I hear those ancient lullabies.
And as I watch this seedling grow,
Feel my heart start to overflow.
Where do I find the words to say?
How do I teach him?
What do we play?
Bit by bit, I 've realized
That 's when I need them,
That 's when I need my father 's eyes.
My father 's eyes.
That 's when I need my father 's eyes.
My father 's eyes.
Where do I find the words to say?
How do I teach him?
What do we play?
Bit by bit, I 've realized
That 's when I need them,
That 's when I need my father 's eyes.
My father 's eyes.
That 's when I need my father 's eyes.
My father 's eyes.
As my soul slides down to die.
How could I lose him?
What did I try?
Bit by bit, I 've realized
That he was here with me;
I looked into my father 's eyes.
My father 's eyes.
I looked into my father 's eyes.
My father 's eyes.
My father 's eyes.
My father 's eyes.
I looked into my father 's eyes.
My father 's eyes."
Listen to Clapton and look into the eyes of the 90-year-old man.
I know you will not be ashamed, as there is no humanity left in you. Live with it, if you can.

In Ukraine, a brutal, bloody war caused by Russian aggression continues, claiming lives, destroying homes, demolishing infrastructure, and inflicting incalculable harm on the environment and surrounding natural ecosystems. Ukraine, more than anyone else in this world, strives for peace, as we bear the daily brutality of this Russian-Ukrainian war. We are at the forefront of the struggle for the right to life, freedom, and justice. Ukraine seeks a just peace that will lay a solid foundation for a stable future for Europe and the World, and the only way of achieving this is to implement President Volodymyr Zelensky's Peace Formula (the Ukrainian Peace Formula).

On the eve of a large-scale flood approaching Baku, a disturbing incident occurred in the village of Buzovna, where a Lada Priora car fell into the ground, literally collapsing the road beneath it. The driver miraculously remained unharmed but vowed to seek justice, promising to file an official complaint with the prosecutor’s office against Azersu OJSC, the state-owned water supply and sewerage company, often associated with deeply rooted corruption.

In a bit of historic irony, powerful oligarch Bidzina Ivanishvili has managed to inspire rare unity across Georgia’s cacophonous political scene twice in his life. His money and influence forged the broad-based consolidation of opposition forces that brought him to power in 2012, and now, 12 years and three electoral cycles later, a similar pattern of opposition convergence could send him packing.

Russian authorities and pro-Kremlin influencers have been spreading false information about alleged Reporters Without Borders (RSF) research into Nazi tendencies within the Ukrainian military, which was featured in a viral video falsely attributed to the BBC. RSF exposes the inner workings of a disinformation campaign designed to justify President Vladimir Putin's war narrative.
