ACG Produced Three Billion Barrels of Oil since 1997 - BP
The total volume of oil production from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) fields for the entire period from the beginning of development (November 1997) to August 15, 2016 amounted to 3 billion barrels (405 million tons), according to BP-Azerbaijan.
"This is a momentous day both for BP and Azerbaijan," says the information with reference to the President of BP-Azerbaijan Gordon Birrell.
The contract to develop Azeri, Chirag and Deepwater Guneshli was signed on 20 September 1994 and entered into force on 12 December of the same year.
Participants of the project are: BP (35.78% - the operator), Chevron (11.27%), Exxon Mobil (8%), Indian ONGC (2.72%), Azerbaijan's SOCAR (11.65%), Japanese Inpex Corp. (10.96%) and ITOCHU Oil (4.3%), Norwegian Statoil (8.56%), and Turkish TPAO (6.75%).

Data on Azerbaijan's oil exports for January-October 2024 reveals a significant drop in both volume and value compared to the same period last year, highlighting the challenges facing the oil-dependent economy. The country exported 495,484.05 tons of oil products worth $309.02 million, a decrease of 40.3% in value and 40.7% in volume compared to 2023, when exports totaled 925,225.07 tons worth $572.21 million.
