Apple has expanded the range of people to children under 5 years of age. The new version of Kids App Store applications are broken down by age groups - 5 and under, 6 to 8 years , 9 to 11 years. Applications are divided into thematic collections: " Build and Play ", " Shapes and colors ", " Explore the world ", " The first words and numbers ", " Musical Applications ", " fun learning ", " interactive children's stories " and others.
Applications for the older children (under 13 years) must meet the requirements of COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act). According to these rules, developers are not allowed to collect personal information from children for the purpose of fixing the advertisements and share such data with anyone else without the consent of the parents. In addition , applications for children banned ads that promote any kind of in-app activity. With reference to an external web site or other software for commercial purposes , such applications must request permission from their parents .
Strict rules on applications for children were introduced after many parents complained to purchase from the App Store without their knowledge through your account tied to parents bank account.
