Azerbaijan and Georgia Discuss Cooperation Expansion
Visiting Tbilisi, the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev met with the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Dimitri Kumsishvili.
At the meeting the Georgian Minister said the friendly relations between the countries offer great opportunities for the comprehensive development of relations and there are some projects that should be implemented in the near future.
Mustafayev in turn recalled the territorial problems of Azerbaijan and Georgia, with which they are faced, and said the regional cooperation will expand after the liberation of the occupied territories.
According to the Ministry, Mustafayev’s two-day visit to Georgia (27-28 October) has been organized on behalf of President Ilham Aliyev.
During the visit, a series of meetings will be held with Georgian officials. The sides will exchange views on the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia.
Since 2006, Azerbaijan has invested almost $ 1.7 billion in the Georgian economy, including $ 283 million from the beginning of the current year. Last year, Azerbaijan invested a record $ 550 million into the economy of the neighboring country. This is the highest rate of Azerbaijani investments in Georgia.
According to the State Customs Committee, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Georgia in the first nine months of 2016 amounted to 244.58 million dollars. Georgia with the figure of USD 221.83 million (3.39 percent of the total exports of Azerbaijan) took the ninth place in the list of major importers of goods from Azerbaijan. ----71D

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
