Mercury Investment and Holdings Ltd Brought Amount of Bonds Issued up to $ 520 Million
The State Committee for Securities registered on November 15 this year, another issue of interest debentures of Mercury Investment and Holdings Ltd, which are planned to be sold in a closed way. The size of the new issue is $ 70 million.
The company Mercury Investment and Holdings Ltd is a legal entity of the Isle of Man. Since August 2012, this company unknown in Azerbaijan announced on three issues totaling $ 520 million, but due to the fact that the placement was in the closed way, no information was given about what project was funded under the attracted funds. Not known are also the customers of the bonds: they are bought by the founders of the company, or Mercury Investment and Holdings Ltd has found a strategic investor.
In August last year, the SSC told Turan that the above company intended to repay the bonds by 2027. In the SSC they did not report the interest rate on the securities.
In the global network it is stated that the company Mercury Investment and Holdings Ltd was established in 2005. It is not reported what it does or the names of the founders.
According to the SSC, the largest one-time issuance of corporate bonds in Azerbaijan is the only bond Azerbaycan (EySC) Limited of SOCAR with face value of $ 485 million, which was made ??in July 2011 . The accommodation of this paper was produced outside the country. And in July 2012 SSC registered the issue of corporate bonds of Baku Shipyard, where SOCAR is also the majority shareholder with a total of $ 310 million.
According to the SSC, for the first nine months of this year, the placement of corporate bonds issued in the currency of the United States was made ??on five transactions totaling $ 67,075,500.
