The State Property Committee (SPC) has provided tenants of state property another opportunity to repay the debt on lease. From now on, they can also use the electronic payment service points.
According to the Committee, it was made possible by the integration of the information system of the department in the Governmental Payments Portal (www.e-gov.az), which was created by the Central Bank.
Tenants can pay monthly rents through commercial banks and the portal of SPC electronic services (www.e-emdk.gov.az).
SPC does not report on the total number or the area of state property in the lease of physical persons and legal entities. According to the law of Azerbaijan Republic "On the State Budget for 2016," the total amount of fees for the lease of state property, including land, will be 7 million manat. By 2015, the figure was 5 million manat.
It is noteworthy that SPC has no control over state-owned properties that are partly rented. So, in 2015, the Chamber of Accounts identified at only one state-owned enterprise (Azerpocht LLC) the availability of space leased by commercial companies with a total area of over 4,000 square meters.
According to the legislation, 50% of the rent for real estate used by state-owned enterprises and organizations shall be transferred to the state budget. ----08D
