On Prospects of IBM in Azerbaijan
The Director-General of Baku office of IBM in Azerbaijan Ilya Kravtsov gave an interview to a local magazine about technology and technology InfoCity, in which he spoke about the key directions of its activities in the ICT market.
The priority of the company is analytical solutions, "cloud" and mobile technology, information security, as well as cooperation within the framework of social responsibility. "This significant emphasis will be placed on the development of competencies and services of the consulting and outsourcing. Here, IBM can offer solutions in which hardware and software will be on the customer's premises, but will remain the property of IBM. It is a complete solution, we also offer as a service," he said.
In Azerbaijan, according to him, the company is a strategic partner of the state, because many of the most important tasks of the state are based on the technological and intellectual basis, which provides IBM. The company's solutions are used in the tax authorities, treasuries, central banks, ministries and departments, in the health sector. "Your country is aimed at reducing the dependence on oil and gas, on the competitiveness of the economy, ensuring its progress on the basis of innovation, which is consistent with the concept of IBM« Smarter Planet "because we expect a strong demand for solutions that correspond to this concept," - he said. Now is not the actual reaction to the events, it is important to anticipate them, which will significantly reduce power costs by increasing the transparency of public administration," says the manager.
"The public sector is also important to the development of" cloud "technologies as advanced countries have either already implemented the so-called" cloud "platform (G-cloud), or are on the way of their creation. In addition, there is actual interaction with local universities (with the inclusion of training programs of their own technologies and products). One of the interesting trends is the product of IBM Watson, for which they were trained in leading universities. We are interested in more closely with educational institutions to ensure that future specialists at the stage of training learned about IBM and subsequently be able to apply in practice their knowledge,” said the manager of a leading global vendor. --17D-
