In January-September 2016 Azerbaijan produced 16 794.6 million kW / h of electricity, which is 2.3% less than the same period last year. This was reported in the monthly report of the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan.
According to the State Statistics Committee, in the reporting period, the volume of produced electricity amounted to 16 045.4 million kW / h (decline by 2%).
The thermal power plants of Azerenergy produced 14,426.0 million kW / h of electricity (decline by 4.7%), and hydroelectric power plants – 1,557,500,000 (26.1% growth).
In addition, solar power generation amounted to 50.1 million kilowatt / hour (an increase of 15.7 times) and wind power - 11.8 million kilowatt / hour (an increase of 2.5 times).
The share of electricity from alternative sources, including from the mini-hydropower plants (on balance of Azerenergy there are 6 units, which generated about 20 million kW / h), with a total development of the country's electricity in January-September 2016, according to estimates of Turan IA, amounted to 0.49%. -12B--

The 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change has taken a significant step towards a unified global response to climate change. On the first day of discussions in Baku, participating countries reached a historic agreement on the rules governing the creation and trade of carbon credits.
