The coordination group discusses plans for the development of the securities market by the end of this year
Regular meeting of the Coordination Group (CG) on the State Program "Development of Securities Market in the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2011-2020" held in the State Securities Committee on July 29, discussed the events scheduled for the second half of this year.
According to the press service of the State Committee for Securities, the head of CG, deputy chairman of the State Securities Committee, Ilgar Muradov, reported on their work to date on the implementation of the State program, including the preparation of new regulations, the formation of the legal framework, stimulating demand and supply, improving the knowledge and skills, and the capacity of the professional participants of the securities market. Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance. This figure, which includes reserves held by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), far exceeds the nation's external debt, which stands at a fraction of its reserves, specifically nearly 14 times less. This robust reserve position reflects Azerbaijan's fiscal stability and the government’s strategic economic management.
