Two Cotton Companies Merged
The monopolist of the cotton market in Azerbaijan LLC MKT Istehsalat Kommersiya announced the acquisition of another market participant LLC Azercot.
MKT Istehsalat Kommersiya in one form or another includes 14 ginneries. The company also owns a textile company in Baku and a plant for the production of bulky yarn in Sumgait. The holding company also has two state-owned enterprises for processing of yarn in Ganja and Mingachevir.
Ltd. Azercot (authorized capital - $ 11 million 119.3 thousand) controlled three cotton factories.
Ltd. MKT Istehsalat Kommersiya (authorized capital - 116.6 million AZN) is under the influence of the Minister of Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov.
As a rule, such merging of monopolists is carried out in coordination with the Antimonopoly Service of the Ministry of Economy and Industry, which last disclosed such information in 2009.
The cotton business in Azerbaijan also includes CTS-Agro, Jecot, Samo, Legno-Imishli and other enterprises. In 2014, the country collected 41 thousand tons of cotton, which is 9.7% less than in 2013. The yield was 17.9 quintals per 1 ha (-1.4 kg / ha). ----08B
