First time special importance attached to export of Caspian gas to Europe in joint statement of Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Turkmenistan
The statement of Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Turkmenistan adopted in Ashgabad emphasizes a special importance of export of natural gas from the Caspian Sea region to Europe through Turkey.
The statement has been adopted after the tripartite meeting of Foreign Ministers of these countries, which took place in the capital of Turkmenistan yesterday.
Ministers have also discussed development of energy cooperation between the three countries.
It has been decided to create the format of a tripartite meeting of representatives of oil and gas companies of three countries.
The sides have emphasized importance of joint efforts in the interests of peace, stability and security in the Central Asia, Caspian basin, South Caucasus and Near East.
Ministers have also emphasized importance of development of cooperation in the transport and communication field and discussed construction of the transport corridor Afghanistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey.
Ministers have also adopted the framework program of cooperation between the three countries between 2015 and 2017.
It has been decided to hold another meeting in the same format in Turkey.—0—
