Turkey has initiated the creation of a "communication line" with Russia and Ukraine on the grain crisis
Ankara/15.06.22/Anadolu: The Ministry of National Defense of Turkey initiated the formation of a "red line" of communication to get out of the grain crisis that broke out with the outbreak of war between Russia and Ukraine.
The Defense Ministry noted that bulk carriers with grain cannot leave Ukrainian ports, which has led to a serious food crisis in a number of countries around the world. The situation is complicated by the presence of sea mines and ongoing armed clashes in the area of the Black Sea ports.
Against the background of the diplomatic efforts of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Turkish Ministry of National Defense is also contributing to the elimination of the problem.
Last week, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar held telephone conversations with his Russian and Ukrainian counterparts. Hulusi Akar told Sergei Shoigu and Alexey Reznikov about the need for an early ceasefire, coupled with a further deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the region.
One of the points of the dialogue between the heads of departments was the withdrawal of bulk carriers with grain from Ukrainian ports.
At the initiative of Akar, a "red line" of communication was formed, which included a representative of the defense departments of the three countries with the rank of generals. Representatives of Ukraine and the Russian Federation through this channel can communicate directly with Turkey in order to resolve the crisis.
Hulusi Akar said earlier about Turkey's interest in eliminating the grain crisis as soon as possible.--0--
