A member of the "Union of Billionaires" becomes the head of Dagestan
In accordance with the decree of Vladimir Putin's decree, Magomedsalam Magomedov was dismissed from his post as head of Dagestan. Ramazan Abdulatipov, deputy of the State Duma from the "United Russia" will substitute him for now, according to the website of the Kremlin. Magomedov was appointed to the post of deputy head of the Russian presidential administration.
The day before, on January 27, Abdulatipov said that Putin had appointed him acting the head of the republic. However, the president's press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, denied this information.
The reason for this change is not reported, but Magomedov clearly failed to stop the severe crime situation in Dagestan, which remains hazardous for many years.
Ramazan Abdulatipov long criticized the Kremlin for poor supervision and attention to Dagestan, to the widespread corruption and arbitrariness of bureaucrats. It is noteworthy that last year Abdulatipov was elected to the new Diaspora organization of Azerbaijanis in Russia, called the "Union of the Billionaires", uniting the richest Azerbaijanis living in Russia.
Taking into account that Abdulatipov is not an ethnic Azerbaijani, most could not understand the logic of the Kremlin, which, according to many, is behind the "Union of Billionaires."
As for Abdulatipov, he worked for the State Duma for several years, for the Russian government, where he dealt in international relations, and was Russia's ambassador to Tajikistan. -02D-
