Condemned another group of "prisoners of hijab"
Narimanov District Court today passed a verdict on 6 believers arrested for taking part in a protest on October 5, 2012 in defense of the right to wear the hijab in secondary schools.
The court sentenced Ramil Veliev to 6.5 years in prison, and Elshad Rzaev - to 6 years. They were found guilty under articles 315.2 (resistance to police use of force, which threatens the life and health) and 233 (organization of actions aimed at disturbing public order, or participate in them) of the Criminal Code.
Vahid Lalakishiev, Arif Fataliyev and Ramil Mehdiyev were sentenced to two years in prison, Elchin Mammadov - to 1 year 9 months. They were found guilty under Article 233.
Total events October 5, 2012 arrested 31 people. Of these, 19 have already been convicted. The defendants in these cases are called human rights activists "prisoners of hijab." In connection with the adoption of measures by the police force to disperse shares rally turned into a confrontation. -16B06-
