Ilham Aliyev promises zero corruption
On April 12, President Ilham Aliyev received the representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan. Referring to the recent visit to the United States, Aliyev noted that at the meetings in Washington, among others, discussed the activities of American companies in Azerbaijan. Aliyev noted that the sharp drop in oil prices required to accelerate reforms. "Azerbaijan is determined to undertake serious economic reforms that will reduce dependence on oil and gas production, diversify the economy," he said. According to Aliyev, a priority to reduce dependence on imports, the expansion and promotion of local production. Serious measures are taken to stimulate exports. Further, Aliyev said that he would like to hear suggestions of the American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan on the establishment of the export-oriented economy.
