Lawyer: Gular Ahmedova holding up well
Sabail court arrested a former member of Parliament Gular Ahmadova for 3 months, told Turan her lawyer Eldar Gadimi.
According to him, Akhmedova behaved at the court with dignity. "With her health there are problems permanently. What can we do, we must endure. She well behaved in the court and showed restraint," said the lawyer.
He stressed that Akhmedova does not recognize guilt against the said items (178.3.2 - fraud, abuse of confidence for seizure of another's property in a large size and 307.2 - harboring serious crimes).
"After the investigation is completed, we will say our word. While the investigation continues, we can not say anything. I believe that the measure of restraint - arrest is not a justified step," said Gadimi.
However, the lawyer refused a lengthy interview, emphasizing that he was instructed not to.
"I was told not to give interviews, and I do not," said Gadimi and hung up the receiver.
Recall that the accused Akhmedova together with her friend Sevinj Babayeva got 1 million dollars for the false promise to elect the Rector of the International University Elshad Abdullayev, a member of parliament in the elections in 2005.
In addition, the investigation accuses Akhmedova of harboring Babayeva accused of committing another crime, sending Babayeva to Turkey and the financing of her living in Istanbul, where she died on December 26, 2012. -03B-
