Opposition leaders: This is the dirtiest election in the history of Azerbaijan
The presidential elections take place in an atmosphere of total fraud, the leader of Musavat Isa Gambar told Turan. Everywhere "carousel" is involved and this is recognition by the authorities that they can not get the voice of the people by fair means," Gambar said.
As leader of the Popular Front Party Ali Kerimli said, the union of the opposition and successful campaign of Jamil Gasanli encouraged citizens to participate in the voting.
However, the authorities again took the path of fraud.
The most typical violations, as noted Kerimli, are massive ballot box stuffing, "carousel", and the interference of the executive bodies.
Despite all this, he urged not to lose heart and to actively participate in the voting.
The presidential elections take place in an environment of massive violations of the law, said the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party Sardar Jalaloghlu.
"At the station 20 of the 23rd Nasimi district, where I voted, before my eyes they forged the signature of my wife, and her ballot was given to another woman.
The leader of the El movement Eldar Namazov did not find his name at the station 28 of the 22nd Nasimi District. However, he was given an opportunity to vote.
"Everywhere there is fraud. This usually happened towards the end of the election, but now it happens from the very beginning. The authorities are not sure of themselves and so they started forgery in the morning. This is the dirtiest election in the history of independent Azerbaijan," said Namazov.
The head of the Executive Committee of the Liberal Party Avaz Temirkhan also announced massive violations of the elections.
The leader of the National Council Rustam Ibragimbekov, who is in Tbilisi, told Turan by telephone that if the elections were fair, the victory of Jamil Gasanli would not cause doubts. "But the government will use any and all possible types of violations to rig the vote. This causes heavy feeling, but I am glad that the opposition was able to unite and win a moral victory, which sooner or later will become real," said the famous playwright. - 05.06.02B –
