Opposition Views on President Ilham Aliyev - He Showed His Level Again
Another criticism by the opposition about the speech made by the President provoked a reaction. Commenting on the president’s speech, the head of the Public Forum for Azerbaijan, Eldar Namazov, said there was nothing new in Ilham Aliyev's speech.
"The new was only the fact that in recent days, the authorities tried to create a myth about the beginning of a dialogue with civil society and opposition. From the beginning I did not believe it, and therefore refused to participate in the meeting," said Namazov. After yesterday's speech of Ilham Aliyev you can dot all i’s. "The authorities have shown that they are not ready for dialogue with democratic forces," said Eldar Namazov.
According to the head of the Popular Front Party, Ali Kerimli, the speech of the president was far from the logic of a monologue. “Unfortunately, a man who illegally governs Azerbaijan, allows himself to say so,” he said. "Ilham Aliyev does not make a debate with us, because he knows that he will get the answer," Kerimli said. As for the president’s language, Ali Kerimli noted that Aliyev did not have the patience to bring the game to end. "It seems that a dialogue with society and the opposition started, so what? The dialogue really has not started yet, but he makes the unjustified, absurd statements. Those who now run the country, have no right to talk about patriotism. How this man can accuse us of treason, if throughout the Karabakh war, he was not in Azerbaijan. When his father was the head of state, he disbanded 33 battalions, and created conditions for the occupation of the six regions of the country. He is hostile with us, but once a week he warmly meets with Armenian leaders," said Kerimli.
Speeches of the authoritarian leaders look like them, and they all lead to the collapse. The opposition had meetings and will hold them, and it is not related to "Eurovision", said Kerimli.
The leader of the party "Musavat", Isa Gambar, said that it is not the first time that Ilham Aliyev spoke in a similar style. As for his rhetoric, it is the result of anxiety.
Ilham Aliyev himself understands the need for democratic changes in the country. However, he wants to say to the people and society, as well as to his entourage, nothing will change. "Therefore, Ilham Aliyev is on the enemy's position towards his people. But it will bring him neither respect, nor success," says Gambar.
He expressed a confidence that democratic changes will take place in the country. "Public Chamber" will put these changes into effect, and nobody can stop it, he said. -05B04-
