Prosecutors threatens the newspaper "Azadlig"
Press Office of the General Prosecutor Office issued a statement regarding the publication of the newspaper "Azadlig" on 5 February titled: "Rally of protest is prepared in Shamakhi." The article reads that an action of protest will be held on February 20 in front of the building of Executive Protest due to social problems and the appeal has been made to the executive branch.
The statement of the Prosecutor Office reads that the article "does not reflect the objective reality, and is an illegal action to influence public opinion and increase tension in the region, and ultimately disrupt stability in the country."
The Prosecutor Office also claims that no one appealed to the executive branch regarding the action of protest.
In this context, acting Editor of the newspaper, Rahim Hajiyev, was summoned to the Prosecutor Office, and was warned about civil and criminal liability in case of a publication of "false information to disrupt stability," the report says. -02D-
