The West is to blame for the clashes in Islamic countries - Ali Hasanov
At today's conference in Baku entitled "Media Turkey and Azerbaijan: historical parallels and the shift from traditional to online media" the head of the public policy department of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan, Ali Hasanov, proposed to unite the efforts of the media in Turkey and Azerbaijan to "acted on the basis of common interests." According to him, the two countries and their Diaspora structures, embassies and the presidents act so, and the media should do the same. Another reason for the interaction of media Hasanov said that in the 1990s, Turkey invested in Azerbaijan more than others, and Baku did the same after it began to receive petrodollars.
Then Hasanov gave direct advice media: "Journalists should not forget that, regardless of the operating conditions, facilities, material and moral atmosphere, they should take into account the interests of their countries and peoples, and to contribute to the support of these interests."
Thus, the doctrine inculcated by Hasanov to the Azerbaijani press is now offered the Turkish press.
Speaking about religion, Hasanov accused the West of provoking an armed confrontation in Islamic countries. "The Islamic countries are represented as state sponsors of terrorism, are not able to adjust the relationship between themselves and within their own countries," Hasanov said.
He regretted that the people "still" get information about events in the Muslim world from CNN, BBC, and other media magnates whose messages are "biased."
"Are the events in Syria, Egypt, Iran, Nagorno-Karabakh region, in Gaza, Yemen, Tunisia and other Islamic countries such as transnational media bodies present them? Does all countries in the world think like journalists of these media structures? " Hasanov said.
At the same time, he reproached the media structure of Islamic countries for the "narrow" activity, not the ability to act on the scale of CNN and BBC."Representatives of our media work better, but cannot go beyond the limits of the country," Hasanov said.
According to him, Azerbaijan's proposal on the establishment of the Association of Journalists of Islamic countries (AJIC) was supported by 55 countries. They appreciated the initiative of Azerbaijan and the proposal to hold a founding congress of AJIC in Baku. -05D-
