Yerevan is not going to release convicted residents of Kelbajar
Yerevan/ 17.02.15/Turan- ArmInfo: The Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received on Tuesday co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group- James Warlick (USA), Pierre Andrieu (France) , Igor Popov (Russia) and Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman, Andrzej Kasprzyk.
According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry, Nalbandian accused Azerbaijan of an effort to break a long-term negotiation process and the fundamental principles ofthe settlement of the Karabakh conflict. Baku is trying to use the Karabakh conflict to justify a policy of repression in their own country. Responding to calls from the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister to begin works on the provision of the large peace treaty, Nalbandian said that it would be possible, when Armenia and Karabakh give consent.
Concerning the fate of Dilgam Asgarov and Shahbaz Guliyev, former residents of the Kalbajar region occupied by Armenians and convicted in Armenia as saboteurs, Nalbandian said that Baku's attempts to secure their release are futile. "Their offense is documented and proven, including kidnapping, torture and brutal murder of 17 year old boy,"- he said.
Tomorrow the U.S. Assistant Secretary Victoria Nuland will arrive in Armenia and she also promised to raise the issue of convicted residents of Kelbajar.-02D-
