Zakharova about the monument to Nzhdeh in Yerevan: We do not understand why this monument was erected

It is unclear  why the monument was erected to  Garegin Nzhdeh in Yerevan, said at the briefing in Moscow the  Russian Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Maria Zakharova.

According to her, everyone knows the position of Russia to the manifestations of all forms of recovery, the glorification of fascism, and neo-Nazism. "We cannot understand why the monument was erected, because we all know the heroic participation of the Armenian people in the Great Patriotic War,"  said Zakharova.

She noted that for  Moscowan indicator of the attitude of the Armenian side to the story is a celebration  of May 9th in Armenia. "In addition,  on 17 December, 2015  at the 70th session of the UN General Assembly was adopted a resolution "Combating the glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other forms of practices that contribute to fueling contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance," which Armenia supported. Moreover, the resolution from the UN site read  the representative of Armenia. We believe that this is the official position of Armenia," concluded Zakharova. On May 28, Yerevan hosted the opening of the monument to Garegin Nzhdeh, attended by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.
