Fuad Rzayev: situation of war invalids is depressing
Baku / 06.04.18 / Turan: The social situation of war invalids is depressing, head of the Public Association of Disabled and Veterans of the Karabakh War Fuad Rzayev said in a conversation with Turan. The number of veterans of the Karabakh war, according to official figures, is 70 thousand people, including 12 thousand disabled. However, half of them are "fake veterans". According to him, the veterans who really participated in the fighting and defended the country, are experiencing financial difficulties. Pensions are paid to disabled people, and veterans receive benefits of only 55 manats. They have no other benefits. Invalids of war receive on average 165 manats of pensions per month. In addition, they are paid a presidential pension of 141 manats. This money is not enough to meet social needs. Only some disabled people receive more assistance from the state. The organization of veterans repeatedly sent proposals to the Cabinet of Ministers to improve the situation of veterans, but received no replies, Rzayev noted.-03B06-
