Ali Insanov does not file a petition for pardon
Information in some media about the alleged writing by Ali Insanov a requests for pardon, is an outright lie, according to the lawyer of the former minister, Togrul Babayev. "I have met today in a colony with Ali Insanov, who said he did not write the pardon and does not think to do it," said the lawyer.
Health Minister, Ali Insanov, was arrested on the eve of parliamentary elections in October 2005, in his office.
First, he was accused of trying to overthrow the government, but then the charge was changed, and he was convicted for economic crimes. He was sentenced to imprisonment for 11 years and is serving his sentence in a colony № 13.
Ali Insanov appealed to the European Court against his sentence. Despite the fact that the communication period has passed, the European Court has not yet ruled on his appeal. -03B04-
