Azerbaijani climbers move to the peak Shishapangma

The Azerbaijani climbers Israfil Ashurly and Firuz Dadashov continue to move toward their goal - to conquer the Himalayan peak Shishapangma (8,027 m). It is one of 14 Himalayan eight-thousanders, located on the border between Nepal and China.

For the third day, they are at the Advanced Base Camp at an altitude of 5,700 m.

April 20 Israfil Ashurly put parts of equipment into the beginning of the route from the glacier at an altitude of 5,900 m. With improved weather the climbers will advance to the first high-altitude camp C1, the report of the Azerbaijan Mountaineering Federation said.

Recall I.Ashurly and F.Dadashev plan climbing the Himalayan peak Shishapangma (8,027 m), also known as Gosaintan .

Duration of the expedition is 1.5 months. The climbers plan by mid-May to climb in sporty style - without the use of bottled oxygen and high altitude porters - Sherpas.

Israfil Ashurly is the conqueror of the Himalayan eight-thousanders Chomolungma (Everest – 8,848 m) and Kanchenjunga (8,586 m) and has the title Snow Leopard. For 15 years he has made 58 successful expeditions on all the continents, including Antarctica and the Arctic.

Firuz Dadashov is a mountaineer from the Republican Mountaineering and Tourism Club. He is a member of the Azerbaijani altitude team. He successfully won four of the five highest peaks of Central Asia more than 7,000 m in height, and made ​​a successful ascent in the mountains of Georgia and Azerbaijan. -02D-
